For over two decades he has taught strategy and entrepreneurship to MBAs, working from the meso — the level where the single maker and the whole economy touch: “the macro side of micro, and the micro side of macro.” He built a social-entrepreneurship program, then a major, then an MBA minor, and spent the base-of-the-pyramid years beside C.K. Prahalad, Stuart Hart, and Madhu Viswanathan — studying markets from the ground up, in the billions of makers underneath the megafauna.
